A nebula is a cloud in space.
It is made of gas and dust. Some are so wide that light needs many years to cross them.
Most of the gas is hydrogen.
Glowing hydrogen looks pink and red. Glowing oxygen looks teal. Those colors are real.
Baby stars are born inside.
Gravity squeezes the thick parts of the cloud together. Then a star lights up and pushes the gas away.
